It is important to keep these chord variations in mind when deciding how to play a song. Some songs need more resonance, and so you may want to keep more strings “open”. Don’t forget you can always use a capo! So while a song may be in the key of E , the chord formations of the key of D may fit the mood of the song better, simply capo 2 it up!
